What is this?

This tool provides access to HUD's LIHTC Tenant Tables — state-level statistics on tenant demographics, household income, rent burden, disability status, and federal subsidy usage in LIHTC properties. Data is available for 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Data Source

All data comes from HUD's annual Tenant Characteristics reports, published as part of the LIHTC database at huduser.gov. The 14 tables cover submissions, property matching, household size, race/ethnicity, disability, family composition, income distribution, income relative to AMGI, rent burden, rental assistance, and construction subsidies.

Tips

  • Select a state or choose "All States" to view national data.
  • Check one or more years to compare trends over time.
  • Choose a data topic from the dropdown to view that table's columns.
  • Click column headers in the results to sort.
  • Use the Export CSV button to download your results.
  • Tables 4b and 12b are only available for 2022–2023.
