BAH Lookup

Looks up monthly Basic Allowance for Housing rates — with and without dependents — for a duty-station ZIP and rank across every year in the database.

Step by step

1. Enter the ZIP

   Enter the 5-digit duty-station ZIP code (use the “How to find” link for help locating it on an LES).
2. Select rank

   Choose the Military Rank / pay grade.
3. Look up

   Click Look Up BAH once both fields are filled.
4. Review

   Review the summary (rank, ZIP, Military Housing Area) and the year-by-year rate table.
5. Clear

   Click Clear to run another lookup.

What you get

A summary block (rank, ZIP, MHA code and name) and a table of BAH With Dependents and Without Dependents monthly amounts for every year in the database. Results are on-screen only — there is no export. An in-page Help modal explains BAH treatment under LIHTC.

Tips & notes

• Use the duty-station ZIP, not the member’s home of record.
• Choose the with- or without-dependents column based on the member’s eligible dependents.
• BAH is generally counted as LIHTC income, but can be excluded for qualified buildings near certain military installations (IRC §142(d)(2)(B)) — see the Help modal.
• Some ZIP / rank / year combinations may show N/A.
